October 24, 1920 – February 18, 2017

Maysie L. Weaver, age 96, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Maysie was born on October 24, 1920 in Wayne County to the late Dexter and Celia Slagle Parmley. She graduated from Somerset High School in 1941. Maysie was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #2 in Nancy, KY. She was a Clerk with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. She loved quilting and watching her birds. She married Samuel Allen Weaver Jr. on July 30, 1942 in Ludlow, KY and to this union was born two children.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Elizabeth (and Bruce) McDonald; her son, Samuel Allen Weaver III; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (and Amy) Burton, Jayme Burton, Auburn (and Kevin) Cook, Autumn (and Derek) Harris and Amber (and Steven) Baldwin and Scott (and Jessica), Kim and Mark McDonald; fourteen great grandchildren, Brook (and Kody) Poloni, Callie Burton, Seth and Macie Burton, Gavin, Gracyn and Winston Cook, Jadyn and Levi Harris, Lillian and Caroline Baldwin, Natalie, Julian and Dylan McDonald; a special sister-in-law, Pat Parmley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband, Samuel Allen Weaver Jr.; three sisters, Stella Parmley, Ella Risner and Marge (Parmley) Gahimer; two brothers, Hershel Parmley and Charles Parmley; and an infant sister, Betty Jean Parmley.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Warren officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
