James Lowell “Stick” Latham passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at his home. He was 90 years old.

He was born on November 1, 1926 at Plato, KY to the late Augusta Maine Owens Latham and Smith Gilmore Latham. He was a life-long farmer, after serving as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army during WWII.

James married Margaret Elizabeth Hansford on May 26, 1950 at Somerset; he is survived by his wife of 67 years; two daughters, Marcia (and Gene) Barrier and Cathy (and Allen) Stringer; one son, James R. Latham, all of Somerset; four grandchildren, Eric Barrier (London UK), Corey (and Carol) Stringer of Lexington, Clayton Stringer, of Lexington, and Elisabeth Latham of Somerset; one brother, Danny O. (and Pat) Latham of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Marilyn Latham Norton (and Bud) Carter of Scottsburg, IN and Sue Carolyn Ferrell, of New Albany, IN.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William Harold Latham.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow on Monday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jessie McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Barrier, Corey Stringer, Clayton Stringer, Charles Lee Latham, Roger Smith and Greg Waters.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Fund.
